5-HTP from Organic Griffonia Extract

5-HTP (5-Hydroxytryptophan) is an amino acid that is synthesized by the body from the amino acid L-tryptophan. L-tryptophan occurs naturally in various types of bananas, chocolate and in the seeds of the African black bean (Griffonia simplicifolia). Griffonia simplicifolia is a woody climbing shrub native to West Africa and Central Africa. The plant grows to around 3m tall and bears greenish flowers followed by black pods containing valuable Griffonia seeds. In its homeland, Griffonia is considered an aphrodisiac. In Europe, however, the plant is best known for its high natural 5-HTP content.

5-HTP is converted into serotonin in the body. Serotonin is one of the key transmitters in the brain, which plays a central role in controlling the perception of pain, the sleeping and waking rhythm and the state of mind.

World first - The first organic 5-HTP from Griffonia seeds

The 5-HTP (5-hydroxytryptophan) for our organic 5-HTP Griffonia tablets is obtained from the seeds of the African black bean (Griffonia Simplicifolia). In cooperation with our African supplier and a German pharmaceutical company, we are the first company in the world to have succeeded in producing a Griffonia extract that meets the high requirements of the EG-ÖKO-Regulation.

The raw materials used for our products come exclusively from controlled organic cultivation. The Griffonia seeds are grown in the African jungle according to organic guidelines. The products are also gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan and not tested on animals. The valuable ingredients are optimally protected by the high-quality amber glass packaging.

Consumption recommendation
