Würziger Tulsi-Tee mit Nelke & Zimt

Spicy Tulsi Tea with Clove & Cinnamon

Warming, balancing & immune-strengthening A powerful herbal tea for cold days – promotes inner strength and brings body & mind into balance.

Ingredients (for 2 cups / approx. 500 ml)

1 tbsp Dried Tulsi (Holy Basil)
1 small Cinnamon stick or ½ tsp ground cinnamon
    2 Cloves
    2–3 Black peppercorns (slightly crushed)
    1 slice Fresh ginger (optional)
    500ml Water
Optional Honey or date syrup for sweetening

    Preparation (approx. 15 minutes)

Crush the spices: Lightly crush the cloves and peppercorns in a mortar to release the essential oils.
Brew the tea: Heat water in a pot. Add Tulsi, cinnamon, cloves, pepper and ginger if desired. Bring to a boil, then simmer gently with the lid closed for about 10 minutes.
Strain & refine: Pour the tea through a fine strainer into cups. Sweeten with honey or date syrup if desired (add only below 40°C).

    Ayurveda Tips:

Effects: This tea has a warming, decongestant and clarifying effect. It strengthens the immune system (Ojas), stimulates Agni (digestive fire) and simultaneously calms the mind. Particularly helpful at the onset of colds, in damp-cold weather or when Vata or Kapha is out of balance.

Vata: Very balancing through warmth & sweet spices

Pitta: In moderation – reduce cinnamon if needed

Kapha: Activating & decongestant – ideal in winter or when feeling sluggish
