Specialization and handcraft are the most obvious and simple countermeasures to the downward spiral of production and prices in agriculture. As a company, we take regional responsibility for the Waldviertel and refrain from automating work steps in order to allow farmers and residents to participate in our value creation chain. For SONNENTOR, fair trade thus begins directly in-house. Currently, around 170 employees are employed. In addition, approximately 150 controlled organic contract farmers from the Waldviertel and Eastern Austria as well as globally recognized and certified organic companies supply the continuously growing operation.
