"Holy stick", is a dry forest tree from Peru. It is considered a strong tree that thrives under harsh conditions. The Bursera family also provides a resin that is quite similar to actual copal resin and is often also referred to as copal.
The resin-rich Palo Santo wood smells wonderfully sweet, with a hint of coconut, but ultimately comparable to hardly anything else. It is burned to deepen spiritual moments, meditation and contemplation.
It helps to dispel negative vibrations and energy. Palo Santo is for South America what sandalwood is for Asia.
