Chitrak or Plumbago zeylanica is one of the main ingredients in this Ayurvedic formula and is one of the oldest Ayurvedic plants. Its taste is pungent, and it has light, dry, and Pitta-increasing properties.
Chitrakadi Vati also contains many spices, such as black pepper, "Pippali" (Piper longum, the long pepper), Piper chaba, a variety of long pepper, ginger, and asafoetida. According to Ayurveda, all these spices support digestion and Agni*, the digestive fire. Additionally, various Ayurvedic salts help to balance Pitta.
Chitrakadi Vati is recommended when Pitta is very low.
Application
Usage recommendation for adults:
1-2 tablets daily with warm water.
Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.
