Triphala is a blend of Amla, Bibhitaki, and Haritaki. The finely and gently (below 40 °C) ground and traditionally mixed powders originate from Indian and Sri Lankan Fair Trade and organic projects. You can also find Triphala in other forms, such as ayurvedic oil Triphala Gritham, as Triphala Churna, or as herbal capsules from Nimi.
Triphala and the Ayurvedic Doshas
In Ayurvedic nutrition, the balance of the six tastes is of great importance to maintain the balance of the Doshas. Doshas are Ayurvedic principles that have no equivalent in modern science. More information about Doshas can be found in our blog article The Teachings of Ayurveda Types.
Recommended Intake
Take 1 gram (equivalent to 1/3 teaspoon) of Churna three times daily with hot water between meals. The daily intake should contain about 2.5 - 3 g of herbal powder. The indicated recommended daily intake should not be exceeded. Dietary supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced and varied diet. Keep out of reach of small children.
