What's in the set

• Organic Herb Treasure, Volker Mehl Edition (€19.90): six organic spices – anise, ginger, cumin, fennel, cardamom and ajowan. For trying out and creating your own blends.
• Suribachi & Surikogi by TerraSana (€22.90): Japanese mortar – ceramic bowl with unglazed grooves (Ø 18 cm) and wooden pestle (18 cm).
• Organic Wurzelglut, Volker Mehl Edition – free (otherwise €9.90): spicy, earthy blend of eleven organic spices, including cumin, turmeric and black pepper, for roasted vegetables, soups and dal.

How to use the set

Briefly toast whole seeds such as fennel, cumin or anise in a dry pan, let them cool and grind them coarsely in the suribachi. Freshly ground, they smell much more intense than ready-made powder. Place the mortar on a damp cloth and turn the pestle against the grooves.
