Lakshmi - Khol Kajal Black Cold

The Lakshmi Khol Kajal Black Cold is an Ayurvedic kajal for the waterline, meaning the inner eyelid edge. Its black color comes from carbon, which Lakshmi obtains in its own manufactory in Hohenlohe from Demeter ghee: The ghee burns in lamps with cotton wicks, and the soot is collected from plates held above them.

In addition to carbon, the kajal contains ghee, beeswax, lanolin, almond, coconut and castor oil, carnauba wax, as well as extracts of peppermint, aloe vera and eyebright. The agricultural ingredients come from Demeter or certified organic cultivation, and it contains no preservatives.

The Cold variant contains up to 2.5% camphor and feels cooling when applied. Without camphor, Lakshmi offers the Khol as a Sensitive variant. Lakshmi color number 100C.

Application

Apply the kajal along the inner eyelid edge. The khol pencils are intentionally soft and hold less well outside the lash line – for a line on the eyelid, a firmer colored kajal is better suited.

Camphor can initially cause slight tingling or burning. Those with sensitive eyes are better off choosing the Sensitive variant.
