Kamala, the powder from the lotus flower, is traditionally used for face masks. It is known for its skin-care and cleansing properties. This mask provides moisture, soothes the skin and gives it a fresh complexion. It is ideal for dry and sensitive skin.
Application as a Face Mask
Ingredients
- 1 tsp powder from Indian lotus flower (available in Ayurveda shops)
- 1 tsp ghee (clarified butter)
- 1-2 tsp rose water (depending on desired consistency)
Preparation
1. Mix powder and ghee:
Add the lotus flower powder to a small bowl and add the ghee. Stir the mixture well until it reaches a creamy consistency.
2. Add rose water:
Slowly drip the rose water into the mixture until the desired consistency for a face mask is reached. The mask should be spreadable but not too liquid.
3. Application:
Apply the mask to the cleansed face and let it work for 15-20 minutes.
4. Rinse off:
Remove the mask with lukewarm water and pat your face dry.
