Birch leaves are known for their traditional uses in natural healing. They are often enjoyed as a tea and have a mild, herbal flavor.
As one of the first trees to turn green in spring, the birch is distinctive. Its white bark makes it a particularly striking tree. Birch leaf tea has long been valued as a home remedy. It is often combined with Goldenrod or Horsetail, which have similar properties.
Preparation
Add a pinch of tea leaves per cup with hot water and let steep briefly. Remove the leaves after a few minutes so the tea doesn't become too bitter.
Since birch leaf tea has a diuretic effect, it is important to drink plenty of additional fluids to avoid excessive water loss. Water or unsweetened teas work well for this purpose.
