Dal as in India: Our Organic Indian Dal Masala brings a balanced blend of turmeric, coriander, cumin & fennel with fine heat and the characteristic depth from asafoetida. Ideal for lentil dal, chickpeas, curries and spicy stews – quick, authentic, everyday-friendly.
Flavor & Everyday Use
Warm-spiced and well-rounded: earthy cumin, aromatic coriander, sunny turmeric, plus fennel for balance. Black pepper and chili provide pleasant heat. Clove, cardamom and cinnamon add depth – asafoetida brings the characteristic dal character.
Perfect for dal, chickpeas, vegetable curries, rice dishes and anywhere you want authentic Indian cuisine flavor.
Application & Preparation
1) Toast: Briefly toast 1–2 tsp of masala in 1–2 tbsp ghee or oil (10–20 sec) until fragrant.
2) Build the base: Add finely chopped ginger and briefly sauté together.
3) Refine the dal: Mix in cooked lentils or chickpeas, let simmer creamy with some cooking water or tomato.
4) Adjust seasoning: Salt and lemon/lime – done.
Tip: For more depth, finish with a small dollop of ghee; for freshness add lemon juice; for "restaurant vibes" top with toasted onions or fresh herbs.

Wofür kann ich Bio Indian Dal Masala nutzen?
Klassisch für Linsen-Dal, aber auch für Kichererbsen, Gemüse-Currys, Reisgerichte, Suppen oder als Würze in Eintöpfen.
Muss ich die Gewürze anrösten?
Kurz anrösten lohnt sich: Das Aroma wird runder und intensiver. Wenn es schnell gehen muss, kannst du die Mischung auch direkt in Sauce oder Kochwasser geben.
Wie viel nehme ich pro Portion?
Starte mit etwa ½–1 TL pro Portion und taste dich hoch. In einem Topf für 2–3 Portionen sind 1–2 TL meist ein guter Bereich.
Ist die Mischung scharf?
Sie ist angenehm würzig mit moderater Schärfe. Für empfindliche Gaumen mit weniger starten und bei Bedarf nachwürzen.
Was ist Asafoetida – und wie schmeckt das?
Asafoetida (Hing) ist ein traditionelles Gewürz in der indischen Küche. Es bringt eine herzhafte, leicht „zwiebelige“ Tiefe und macht den typischen Dal-Geschmack aus.
Passt das auch zu Gemüse oder Tofu?
Ja! Besonders gut zu Blumenkohl, Kartoffeln, Spinat, Kürbis, Aubergine oder Tofu. Einfach in Öl anrösten und dann das Gemüse darin schwenken.
Wie bekomme ich mein Dal besonders cremig?
Linsen weich kochen, dann mit etwas Kochwasser cremig rühren. Ein Klecks Ghee oder Kokosöl am Ende macht es besonders rund.
Wie lagere ich das Masala am besten?
Luftdicht, trocken und lichtgeschützt. So bleibt das Aroma lange frisch.
