How Sabine Deutscher's Porridge Book Came About
Sabine Deutscher tells: When I wrote the Porridge Book over 30 years ago, it was due to the lack of simple and wholesome recipes for the smallest ones. My son had just been born and we cooked the first delicious porridge dishes for him using ingredients from our organic store. It quickly became clear that other mothers were also interested, and so the Rapunzel Publishing House was founded in Ludwigsburg, where the Porridge Book has been published and distributed ever since.
In the last three decades, much has changed in the organic scene, the selection has become more diverse and colorful, but the Porridge Book has weathered all the ups and downs and remains a popular work for young mothers in its revised edition.
In the meantime, the first "porridge children" come into our shop with their own offspring to buy their own Porridge Book, and our own children have already given us porridge-eating grandchildren.
How to Use the Porridge Book
The recipes in the Porridge Book are not organized by the child's age, but by the type of preparation. In the recipes themselves you will find information about which age each porridge is suitable for. At appropriate points, important topics such as allergies or everything related to milk are addressed. At the very end, all the recipes contained in the Porridge Book are listed alphabetically, so you can find everything without much leafing through. Many parents read the book comfortably first and then try one recipe or another - feedback on whether it tastes good or whether you should try a different recipe next time comes from the little eater.
