Ayurvedic Foundation

In Ayurvedic medicine, the physical constitution of a person is described using three basic constitutions, the doshas: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Accordingly, Ayurvedic medicine assumes the presence of Vata, Pitta or Kapha imbalances in the preliminary stages of illness or in already existing diseases. In these cases, the respective doshas are elevated, individual body channels (srotas) are blocked, the digestive fire (Agni) is reduced and the body is correspondingly restricted in its function.

The doshas Vata, Pitta and Kapha each have specific functions in the body. The 5 elements of which they are composed form the properties (guna) and the specific taste (rasa). In Ayurvedic medicine, maintaining and promoting health through balanced nutrition (ahara) and lifestyle (vihara) is considered essential. Various properties similar to the respective dosha increase dosha activity. In combination with weak digestive fire and dosha-aggravating diet and lifestyle, body tissues (dhatus) become weakened and initial discomfort occurs.

Our cleansing cures reduce elevated doshas, strengthen Agni and regulate bowel function. The organism can thus return to its natural balance. With herbs, spices or ghee, the body channels are cleansed and metabolic waste (ama) is eliminated.
