Sugarcane molasses is obtained by pressing sugarcane, a byproduct of sugar production. After the sugar crystals are extracted by centrifugation, syrup remains. The main component of molasses is therefore sugar, with a sugar content of approximately 54%. It is unrefined and bottled without any additives.
use
Molasses can be used wonderfully as a spread, for sweetening muesli, milk, puddings and for baking. Especially delicious: Molasses stirred into yogurt or quark, refined with apple sauce and cinnamon.
