The capsules contain the dried and ground root of the ashwagandha plant. Whitania somnifera, known in German as winter cherry or sleeping berry, is an evergreen, bush-like plant from the nightshade family that grows to a height of 0.5-1.5 metres. It is therefore related to plants such as potatoes, tomatoes and belladonna. Ashwagandha has fleshy roots, simple, green oval leaves and forms small, spherical orange-red berries. The finely and gently (below 40 °C) ground powder of the dried root comes from Indian and Sri Lankan fair trade and organic projects.

More ashwagandha

Ashwagandha is also available in various other dosage forms. For example, in the Ayurvedic ashwagandha herbal capsules (60 capsules) from Nimi, in the medium-sized capsule pack with 80 ashwagandha capsules from Cosmoveda, as a sweetened hot drink in the Hot Instant Ashwagandha Infusion, or for external use as Ashwagandhadi Gritham massage oil. Recommended dosage

Take 3 capsules of 0.36 g each (0.26 g net content of herbal powder) three times a day. The daily intake corresponds to 2.3 g herbal powder. The recommended daily intake must not be exceeded. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced and varied diet. Keep away from small children.
