The birch is one of the first trees to turn green in spring. Its white bark makes it a particularly striking tree. The birch leaves make a tea that has long been valued as a household remedy. It is often combined with goldenrod or horsetail, which have a similar effect.
Preparation
Add a pinch of tea leaves per cup to hot water and leave to infuse briefly. Remove the leaves after a few minutes so that the tea does not taste too bitter.
As birch leaf tea has a diuretic effect, it is important to drink plenty of fluids to avoid losing too much water. Water or unsweetened teas are good for this.
