Our organic Kitchari Energy energises your day! The combination of fine basmati rice, nutrient-rich mung dal and aromatic spices such as ginger, galangal, chilli and pippali provides an invigorating warmth. Carrot and tomato give the dish a natural sweetness and freshness. Perfect for active days when you want to treat your body to an easily digestible but energising meal!
Preparation
Boil 1/2 cup (60g) of kitchari with 1 cup (120ml) of water per portion. Cover and simmer over a low heat for approx. 15 minutes. Stir regularly. Stir in asafoetida and ghee as required at the end of the cooking time and flavour with salt.
Tip: For a delicious dal, simply add chopped vegetables of your choice and simmer for approx. 10 mins.
