Chyawanprash is an authentic Ayurvedic food supplement rich in historical references and legends. First references to Chyawanprash go back to 3000 years before our era. According to the ancient Ayurvedic text “Charaka Samhita”, the first and oldest Ayurvedic treatise, Chyawanprash can be consumed daily.
Most of the herbs in the recipe are boiled in water and then the dried extract is mixed with honey. Then the aromatic herbal powders cardamom, cinnamon and cloves are added. The finished product is like sugar syrup, but with a slightly sour and slightly spicy taste.
