Kitchari is a traditional Ayurvedic dish that is valued for its balancing and easily digestible properties. Our organic Kitchari Basic combines high-quality basmati rice with protein-rich mung dal and a finely balanced spice blend of turmeric, cumin, ginger and coriander. Perfect for gentle relaxation days or as a nutritious everyday meal - quick to prepare and deliciously flavoursome!
Preparation
Boil 1/2 cup (60g) of kitchari with 1 cup (120ml) of water per portion. Cover and simmer over a low heat for approx. 15 mins. Stir regularly. Stir in asafoetida and ghee as required at the end of the cooking time and flavour with salt.
Tip: For a delicious dal, simply add chopped vegetables of your choice and simmer for approx. 10 mins.
